Vishwas Saralaya of MGM, Udupi has won the State Level Pre University Chess Championship organised Govt Girls junior College, Basavanagudi, Bangalore held on 11th November 2006.
He gathered unbeaten 6.5 points in 7 rounds to claim the title. Koushik R of sharada Vidyalaya, mangalore scored 5.5 points and was placed 5th to make it the Karnataka Team.
Soumyashree C Ail of Canara P U College, mangalore scored 5 points in 6 rounds and stood runner up in Girls section.
Vishwas, Koushik and Soumyashree are among the players sellected to reprersent Karnataka in National level Championship to be held at Tirupati.
