ADITH WINS DCS PREMIER LEAGUE CHESS TOURNAMENT

Adith Jagadish of Lourdes Central School clinched title in the Premier League Chess Tournament by scoring 7 points out of 8. The Medallists event was organised at DCS on 26th November witnessed participation of 9 invited strong National and State performers and was conducted in Round Robin with Fischer Rapid time control.

State Under 11 girls champion Vanessa D'souza(St Agnes)'s attempt went in vain though her upset victory over Adith, couldn't stop him from walking away with the winner's smile. Vanessa scored 6.5 points with +6, -1, =1 score and was placed runner up. Her only loss was against Koushik R of Sharada Vidyalaya. Koushik R scored 6 points with +6, -2 score. He was placed 3rd. State Under 7 champion Anantharam R U of Sharada Vidyalaya was impressive with +4, -4 score to bag 4th place.

In another simultaneous non medallists' event-Juniors' Invitational Rapid Chess Tournament Avinash R U of Sharada Vidyalaya scored unbeaten 5.5 points in 6 rounds to bag the honour. Other results :
