Sanjay J Rao of Canara High School, Urwa has won the City Level Inter High School Chess Tournament organized by P.T.A, Besant English School Mangalore on 2nd December. He scored 4 points in 5 rounds with 14 progressive points to better two other tied for the first place.
Manasa K of Sri Ramakrishna Eng High School scored 4 points with 12 progressive points and was placed 2nd. Sumith Bhat secured 3rd with 4 points and 11 progressive points.
Earlier the event was inaugurated by Deric Pinto, Administrator, Derik's Chess School by lighting the lamp. Kubera Shetty, President P.T.A; Sudha K V, Headmistress, Besant Eng School; Vijendra, Member, P.T.A and Prasanna Rao, Tournament Director were also present on the occasion.
The winners will receive their award on school's annual day to be held on 21st December.
