Derik's Chess School talent Master Nihal Manjunath will participate in the Under 13 category in the World School Chess Championship being organised by Singapore Chess Federation from 22nd to 31st July 2008 at Singapore.
Nihal Manjunath, earlier this year had won Silver Medal in the Asian School Chess Championship held in Srilanka. He is one of the prominent Sub junior player of the State and had won State Under 13 title last year in Mangalore. He has also led Lourdes Central School team in the National CBSE Chess Championship which won the event convincingly amidst participation of many strong teams.
Nihal Manjunath is studying in 9th standard in Lourdes Central School, Mangalore. Nihal is son of Dr Manjunath Shetty and Dr Veena Manjunath.
