Lourdes Central School wins Runner Up in South Zone CBSE Championship

Lourdes Central School, Mangalore team comprising strongest junior players of Mangalore - Adith Jagadish ( Captain), Nihal Manjunath, Yashas Salian, Rammoham Bhandari and Akash H, has won the Runner Up place in the South Zone Chess Championship organised by DRS International School, Hyderabad, A.P held from 19th to 23rd September 2007.

The team scored 20 points in 6 rounds with the following contribution by each player:

Board 1- Adith Jagadish- 5 pts
Board 2- Nihal Manjunath- 5.5 pts
Board 3- Yashas Salian- 5 pts
Board 4- Rammohan Bhandari- 4.5 pts.

With this performance the team has qualified to participate in the National Level CBSE Chgampionship to be held in Modern School, Chennai during October month end.

The team was accompanied by Mr. Veerendra Alva ( Manager) and renowned chess coach Mr. Prasanna Rao, DCS.
